Which Wich Selects "Bag of the Year"

Which Wich just selected our first annual "Bag of The Year" from the thousands of bags that customers create and hang on our community walls.  We asked our WW operators to send us the most creative bags displayed at their locations during the past year. From these finalists, the WW corporate staff voted on the bag that best promoted the Which Wich VIBE. The winning bag, featured here, came to us from one of our Nashville, Tennessee locations.  It will be framed and displayed on our Bag of The Year Wall of Fame.

Don't forget to hang your creations on our community walls...you could be next year's winner!

W4W!? OMG, that's hilarious! Next, you'll have a bag that reads "WTF?" or "M4M". You no doubt have no idea what any of these acronyms mean.

Do you really think its a good idea to have gang symbols on your sandwich bag? Just curious.

OMG!!! And maybe if we read it backwards we'll find subliminal messages in it!

Or then again maybe it just means exactly what it says.

Well, what it says is "W4W" and the most common current interpretation of that acronym is "whore for whore", referring to a policy of exchanging links on cooperating websites.

The second most common meaning is in personals ads, where it means "woman [looking] for [a] woman" (it's among related acronyms such as M4M, W4M, M4W &c).

The first usage was "[Microsoft] Word for Windows", but it has also been used for "[Microsoft] Workgroups for Windows." It can also mean "word for word" but, again, the most common current meaning is "whore for whore."

Hello bloggers! We appreciate everyone's feedback and concern regarding our Bag of The Year design. Is there a hidden message in it? We don't think it was intended to be that way, but we understand how some of you might think so if you've spent a lot of time on social networking sites. We assume (call us optimists) that the "WW" stands for Which Wich and that the designer was simply stating "Which Wich 4 life." Admittedly, this has been a good lesson for us. Thanks for helping us out.

Also, a big thank you to Bill Seaver for your thoughts via email on the matter, AND for not being anonymous on the blog.

Man I didn't even know there was a bag of the year contest. I could have sent a bunch of mine your way. When was the deadline for the entries?

For this contest we had the staff at each WW location pick their favorite bags from the ones displayed on their community walls. They mailed them to WW corporate and then the corporate employees voted on their favorite. To have your bag creations considered for the next Bag of The Year contest, mail them to Which Wich "Bag of the Year Contest" at 1310 Elm St. suite 180, Dallas Texas 75202. Nominations accepted through December 2008. Good luck!

Just so we are clear, it is not the W 4 W that is at issue, it is the actual gang signs that the hands are portraying in the picture. It has nothing to do with social networking and everything to do with actually knowing something about street life. I love how suburban ignorance on your part means that the rest of us are just stupid for pointing out something so obvious.
